Terms of Use
Effective · 2026-05-02 · v1
These are the terms for using Vandaag and the Appexer website. By using either, you agree to them. They're written to be readable. If something is genuinely confusing, that's a bug — email hello@appexer.com and I'll rewrite it.
Who's providing this
Vandaag and the Appexer website are provided by Appexer, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands (KVK 42022032). Throughout these terms, “we” or “us” means Appexer.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Vandaag. (That's Apple's minimum age and ours.) If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. By creating an account, you confirm you meet these requirements.
Free and paid
Vandaag has a free tier that lets you try it for the first week. After that, continued use requires a subscription, currently €5–7 per month (the exact price is shown in the App Store and depends on your local currency). The subscription is unlimited — no per-lesson caps, no usage meters.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple via in-app purchase. They renew automatically until you cancel them in your Apple ID settings. We don't have access to your card details and we can't process refunds directly — those go through Apple.
You can cancel any time. When your billing period ends, your account drops back to the free tier. Your data stays put unless you delete the account.
What you can do with it
Use Vandaag to practice Dutch. That's the deal.
What you can't do with it
- Use it to do something illegal — under Dutch law or the laws of where you live.
- Try to break it, scrape it, or reverse-engineer the AI prompts. Found a security issue? Email hello@appexer.com — I'll fix it fast and credit you if you'd like.
- Use it to harass other people, generate harmful content, or run any kind of automated abuse.
- Resell your account or share login credentials.
Your stuff stays yours
Anything you write or say to Bloem belongs to you. We don't claim a license to it, we don't sell it, and we don't train models on it. See the privacy policy for the specifics.
Our stuff stays ours
The Vandaag app, the Appexer website, the Bloem character, the lesson content, the design system — all of it is owned by Appexer. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use it for what it's for. You don't get to copy it, repackage it, or sell it.
The honest disclaimer
Vandaag is a language-learning app, not an oracle. The AI sometimes says things that are wrong. It's good at conversational Dutch; it's not a certified teacher and it's not a substitute for one if you need a CEFR exam, a translation for legal documents, or anything else with stakes. Use your judgment.
We provide the service “as is.” We do our best to keep it running, but we can't guarantee it will be available 24/7, free of bugs, or compatible with every iOS version forever. If it breaks, we'll fix it. To the extent allowed by Dutch law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months.
Ending the relationship
You can stop using Vandaag at any time. Cancel your subscription in Apple ID settings, delete your account from inside the app, or both.
We can suspend or close an account if it's being used to break these terms — illegal use, abuse, security violations. In all but the most serious cases, we'll email you first and give you a chance to fix it.
Changes to these terms
If we change something material, we'll email registered users at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree with the change, you can cancel and delete your account before it kicks in.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes that we can't resolve over email go to the courts of Amsterdam — though, honestly, email first.
